Class News and Updates
11/13/17
Hello everyone! Here are some announcements for this week. First of all, students will be given some time off from homework this week, but should utilize the extra time to look into getting any missing/late assignments completed. Students will be given opportunities to find out the missing assignments throughout the upcoming week, yet feelings of urgency and responsibility should come from them as much as possible. Students will be given time in class to complete things, but should that not be ample amount of time for them, they should utilize the extra time at home. Also, students will be allowed to take any work home during the Thanksgiving break, if they feel that they would like to use any of that time to complete anything, too. Also, in the upcoming month of December, we will have an end of the semester winter party, so, please start thinking about anything that your student would like to bring to contribute to the party. Forms will be sent out when we return from Thanksgiving break. Lastly, this Tuesday, the 14th, is the last day to turn in any baked goods for the school-wide food drive. As seen in the flyer, 6th grade is in charge of bringing baked goods. So, if it is possible for you to donate anything at all, please, send it with your student. Students are given 10 ClassDojo points for every item they bring. If you have any questions, please, do not hesitate to contact me! Enjoy your week!

Hi! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! Here are a few reminders for this upcoming week. On Tuesday, we will have the Halloween costume parade that begins with Kindergarten and ends with 6th Grade. Students are definitely more than welcome to participate by having a costume that day. As already seen, though, please ensure that the costume follows the guidelines that are found in the announcement that has been sent home. Another announcement was sent home today, too. The costume parade will begin around 8:45am and go for about 45 minutes. Also, forms for a dental check were sent home today, so, please, submit the dental check forms to the office or myself by Friday, November 3rd, at the latest. If you have any questions about the dental check, feel free to contact the front office or myself and we'll assist in any way possible. Please, keep your students reading and on track with their homework at home, and stay positive with them as they continue throughout their 6th grade year! Thank you all, and enjoy your weekend and the new upcoming week!

Hello to all of you! Here are a couple updates for this week. First, we will now have an Informational Reading Homework every week in place of our Time for Kids magazine and assignment sheet. Students will read an article, which will usually be associated with something we're learning or have learned, and then they will be required to work on some task(s). The final sheet is the only one that needs to be turned in to me, and NOT the article. If you have any questions on that, please, let me know. Also, on Thursday we will have a disaster drill. So, do not be alarmed if students are mentioning anything about it before it happens, or anything on the day it happens; it merely serves as practice for staff and students in case of an actual emergency. Thank you all, and have a good week!
10/2/17
Hi everyone! It has been great speaking to many of you for the past week during our conference appointments. If I have not met with you, I either don't have an appointment with you, or will see you this coming Wednesday. If you need to schedule an appointment, or need to reschedule, let me know, and I will do my best to accommodate you. Progress Reports will go out by the end of this week, so please, keep a look out for those, and I will send a message when they go home as a reminder. Last thing, is that there will be no Time for Kids homework this week. You all enjoy your week!
9/25/17
I hope everyone was able to enjoy their weekend! We have now came to that time of year once again - our parent conferences time! I hope everyone who scheduled an appointment is able to make it, and if you have any changes, please, feel free to contact me and we can schedule another appointment. If you don't remember your appointment date and time, contact me, and I'll get that to you.
For homework this week, students will not be receiving a Time for Kids, so, homework will only consist of the Daily Reading Log, Weekly Spelling Homework, and Math 4 Today: Test #4.
Also, this past week I sent home the new catalogs for Scholastic book orders. You can submit orders with our classroom code, which is QBXKL, until October 27, and I'll will submit them for shipping that evening.
If you have any questions on anything at all, don't hesitate to contact me! You all have a great week!

There isn't much to update this week, but a few things are that Scholastic book orders have gone out and should be arriving within a week's time. I'll get the orders to the students as soon as they arrive. Also, today, 9/11/17, we will be working on a school-wide art project in honor of Patriot Day. So, keep a look out for the final work once we have completed it. Lastly, if you still have not signed up for conferences with me for the last week of September and would like to schedule one, please, contact me and we can set an appointment; to help out anyone who cannot make any of the times I sent home, I am also willing to meet during another week or time. Let's make sure we all have a good week, so, let's stay positive and upbeat with our students, and motivate them to give their best efforts in school. Enjoy your week everyone!
