Mr. Rodriguez
I was born and raised in Southern California in the Inland Empire. I am the oldest of two, with my younger sister also being an elementary school teacher. I come from a predominantly Spanish speaking family, and have always held onto my language and culture, as I truly value the diversity that it brings to my life and the lives of others; just as I truly value the languages and cultures of others for the same reason.
In addition, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters through family activities. Together, we enjoy staying active in the gym, being out in nature, and spending time together at our favorite places. As a family, we enjoy cooking, as we support one another in our efforts to live healthy lifestyles, and some of our favorite places to enjoy ourselves are Newport Beach, Disney California Adventure Park, and Disneyland. My personal hobbies include playing and composing music, in various styles, reading, and playing and watching my favorite sports of soccer and basketball.
I hold a Bachelor's of Arts in Music from Cal Poly Pomona and completed the Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential Program at UC Irvine to obtain my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I have one year of teaching experience, which has been with Cypress School of the Arts in 6th grade, and I prior to that I have experience student teaching in 5th grade at Viejo Elementary in Mission Viejo, CA, and 2nd grade at Ralph A. Gates Elementary in Lake Forest, CA. Both student teaching experiences have been in the Spanish Dual-Immersion program.
